How does your world get onto this list? The zeroth criterion is that I have to know it exists. Then I have to be able to get to your website to see it with my own eyes. If it brings up red lights in Cosmo Player or crashes Netscape, it's history. If it brings up yellow lights in Cosmo Player, but what I can see still looks OK, it stays.
The next test is for size and speed. I've got ISDN, and if it takes longer than a minute or two to load, it's gone. Likewise, if the frame rate is so slow on my P133 that it spoils my ability to navigate, it's on the trash pile. Finally there's the aesthetic test. I've built a couple dozen worlds for my site. You'll have to look for them elsewhere. They aren't good enough for this list.
I've taken the VRML 1, VRML 2, and Live3D marks off this list. For one thing, hardly anyone is building VRML 1 worlds or Live3D worlds any more. For another, I took all the graphics off so the page would download in a reasonable time.
When the author of a particular world has specified a particular browser, you'll usually see it in parentheses next to the link. I know there are a couple of Viscape worlds here, which aren't strictly speaking VRML, but they were so gorgeous I couldn't resist.
I put sites in VRML as art category if the site didn't fit better under one of the other categories (which means you'll find excellent VRML artists in lots of categories on this page) and if I thought the site fit my own definition of "art". I gave the benefit of the doubt if the creator claimed his or her purpose was artistic.
Remember to visit the meta-lists, some of which are bigger than this one. And when you visit at the content house sites, linger. They tend to tuck old projects away in odd places.

Did I leave out a favorite world or get an URL wrong? Has a site died? Let me know.
